🍂 The Stonecutter's Secret
Jul 13, 2026A parable about Effort 💪
A young apprentice watched an old stonecutter working on a massive rock.
For hours, the stonecutter struck the stone with his hammer.
One hit.
Two hits.
Fifty hits.
One hundred hits.
Nothing happened.
The apprentice finally asked,
"Why do you keep hitting it? It isn't changing."
The old man smiled and continued working.
Then, on the 101st strike, the rock split cleanly in two.
The apprentice exclaimed,
"That last hit broke the stone!"
The stonecutter shook his head.
"No. The first hundred did."
💡 Wisdom
Most people only notice the breakthrough.
They do not see the invisible effort that made it possible.
Every repetition,
every difficult practice,
every extra ball,
every moment you choose not to quit—
they are shaping the stone.
The result often arrives long after the work begins.
🎯 Reflection
What stone am I currently striking, even though I cannot yet see it changing?
Because in sport—and in life—the breakthrough rarely belongs to the strongest.
It belongs to the one who keeps swinging. 💪🔥
